About Us

Our story
The De Aar Youth Precinct was founded by the Transnet foundation in partnership with the Transnet Property, through the rehabilitation of two Transnet properties locate here in De Aar to provide an educational, recreational and entertainment space for the youth of De Aar that will contribute towards their holistic growth and development.
The Precinct was officially opened on the 28th of July 2014 by the honorable Minister of Public Enterprises, Ms Lynne Brown.
Our mission
To be a catalyst for social integration and transformation amongst all the youth of De Aar regardless of cultural, racial, social and economic difference in order to develop the youth of De Aar into confident and independent youth enabled for social and economic success.

Empower the youth of De Aar by providing holistic youth development through education, information, entertainment, recreational and other such projects and programmes that will achieve the mission and vision of the Precinct;

Develop young people with an awareness of their socioeconomic environment and a willingness to contribute towards the development of their own community;

An education information centre offering access to library, career information, higher education information, health care etc. Provision of information and knowledge that will create informed and inspired young people from De Aar.
